Nick Roels has gotten the opportunity to play with a wide selection of jazz bands, symphonies, wind ensembles, choirs, and jazz combos. Nick Roels has traveled around the United States, as well as Europe playing music and being conducted by some of the country's most reknown conductors and composers.

Nick Roels has also played in the WMEA Solo and Ensemble competition for six years, receiving Superior ratings five out of the six years. In 2015, he received first place in the regional competition, and moved on to the State Competition at Central Washington University in Ellensburg, Washington.

 

Nick Roels has played under the direction of many reknown conductors and composers, such as Dr. Kevin Hekmatpanah, Dr. Robert Spittal, Gerard Schwarz, and Dr. Thomas Lee. In addition, he has also been taught and/or directed by Eric Peterson, Andy Robertson, David Fague, Dr. Peter Hamlin, Dan Cox, Chris Grant, and Edward Littlefield.

 

Additionally, he was nominated to be the Drum Major for Redmond High School for the 2014-15 school year, which gave him the opportunity to conduct the Pep Band at Football and Basketball games throughout the year, as well as getting some experience with conducting the Redmond High School Wind Ensemble, and having a position of leadership within the Music Program at Redmond High School.

 

In addition to performing, Nick Roels has also arranged and composed for the Redmond High School Pep Band, the Redmond High School Wind Ensemble, and the Gonzaga University Jazz Jazz Combos.
